The EU Mission Ocean &
Waters and its Danube &
Black Sea Lighthouse
With a 2030 target, the ‚EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters‘ aims to protect and restore the health of our ocean and waters through research and innovation, citizen engagement and blue investments. The Mission’s new approach will address the ocean and waters as one and play a key role in achieving climate neutrality and restoring nature.
To achieve the challenging goals of Mission Ocean and Waters, four lighthouse areas were created in four major EU sea and river basins. These Mission Lighthouses are sites to pilot, demonstrate, develop, and deploy Mission activities across EU seas and river basins. Besides the Danube-Black Sea Lighthouse, these are: Baltic-North Sea, Mediterranean and Atlantic-Arctic.
EcoDaLLi is the Coordination and Support Action (CSA) of the Danube & Black Sea Lighthouse that focuses on the protection and restoration of freshwater ecosystems and biodiversity. To achieve this objective, EcoDaLLi is accompanied by currently seven Innovation Action (IA) projects.
