Mission Charter
With a 2030 target, the ‚EU Mission Restore our Ocean and Waters‘ aims to protect and restore the health of our ocean and waters through research and innovation, citizen engagement and blue investments. The Mission’s new approach will address the ocean and waters as one and play a key role in achieving climate neutrality and restoring nature.
The Charter of the EU Mission Ocean and Waters calls for joining efforts to achieve the objectives of the Mission. This Charter is non-binding and open to any public or private interested parties. You can contribute by pledging actions to co-design, propose and implement policies, programmes, projects or initiatives that will contribute to the restoration of our ocean and waters.
Pledging an action to the Mission Charter is one way for you and your organisation to show support and get involved in a joint European effort to protect our ocean and waters.
Pledges to the Mission Charter can take many forms, whether your pledge supports R&I goals, offers access to knowledge or data, upscales and deploys novel solutions, provides education, or engages citizens to protect our freshwater ecosystems – all actions are welcome!
As the Danube & Black Sea Lighthouse is the only Lighthouse with a freshwater focus, it is crucial that the Region is adequately represented in the Charter.
By submitting actions to the Mission Charter, we are sending a clear message to the European Institutions about the work happening in our region. Let’s ensure the work in the Danube River Basin is fully represented!
