Deltas and Wetlands Symposium

The 32nd edition of the International Symposium “Deltas and Wetlands” was held in Tulcea, Romania, from 12-17 May 2025. This year’s symposium offered an exceptional opportunity to connect with researchers, explore the latest advancements in delta and wetland studies, and celebrate our shared achievements. The event included actitivities in the framework of EcoDaLLi.

Mission Ocean and Waters Forum 2025

The Mission Forum 2025, held as part of the European Ocean Days, gathered policymakers, researchers, and stakeholders to assess the progress of the Mission "Restore Our Ocean and Waters by 2030" and chart the course for future action. The event provided a platform for sharing insights, presenting achievements, and fostering collaboration among Mission projects and initiatives.

Ulm, Germany

The "Strengthening the Danube Innovation Ecosystem" workshop took place in Ulm, Germany as part of the larger conference "The Danube Region at the Turn of Times", held during the International Danube Festival. The workshop, organized by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum with strong support of EUSDR PA8, focused on innovation, technology transfer, and strengthening the Danube region’s innovation ecosystem.

Osijek, Croatia

The EcoDaLLi Middle Danube Living Lab in Osijek, Croatia focused on climate change resilience in the region, featuring insightful panel discussions, knowledge exchange, and a visit to the Kopački Rit National Park.

Tulcea, Romania

The EcoDaLLi Living Labs on waters systems and biodiversity were featured at the 31st International Symposium “Deltas and Wetlands” in Tulcea, Romania, where participants explored critical topics related to the restoration of water systems and the biodiversity strategy for 2030. Co-organized by the Ministry of Environment, Waters and Forests of Romania and the Danube Delta National Institute, the event provided a platform for exchanging knowledge and fostering collaboration to protect and restore vital ecosystems in the Danube River Basin.

24-25 October 2023
Kranj, Slovenia (Hybrid)

The fourth and final EcoDaLLi stakeholders engagement workshop took place on 25 October 2023, in Kranj, Slovenia. Hosted as part of the 12th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), the workshop engaged over 60 stakeholders from diverse sectors in the Middle and Lower Danube region. Key discussions focused on ecosystem restoration, water pollution reduction, and the circular blue economy, with an emphasis on climate change, water systems, and innovative local solutions.

Draž, Croatia

The third EcoDaLLi stakeholders engagement workshop was held in Draž, Croatia, on 27 August 2023. Hosted by the University of Zagreb and Općina Draž, the event brought together local stakeholders, including representatives from farming, fishing, and water management, to discuss water governance and ecosystem restoration in the Middle Danube region.

Vienna, Austria (Hybrid)

EcoDaLLi successfully hosted its second stakeholder engagement workshop as part of the 30th Conference of the Danubian Countries on Hydrological Forecasting and Hydrological Bases of Water Management. Organised by ICLEI Europe and the Association of Danube River Municipalities (ADRM) "Danube", the event gathered a diverse group of stakeholders from business, academia, governance, and civil society to discuss innovative solutions for Upper Danube protection, restoration, and spatial governance.

Tulcea, Romania

EcoDaLLi held its first stakeholder engagement workshop as part of the 30th edition of the "Deltas & Wetlands" Danube Delta National Institute Scientific Event in Tulcea. Organised by ICLEI Europe, ADRM, DDNI, and IP Tulcea, the session brought together researchers, policymakers, businesses, and civil society representatives to explore innovative approaches for restoring the Danube Delta and Black Sea region. Participants worked in three thematic groups—biodiversity and resilience, water quality, and circular and blue economy—to discuss challenges, opportunities, and strategies for driving change.

3–4 April 2023
Bucharest, Romania

The Danube and Black Sea Lighthouse was officially launched at a high-level event in Bucharest, co-organised by the European Commission, the Romanian government, and EcoDaLLi. Over 200 participants engaged in discussions on advancing the EU Mission ‘Restore our Ocean, Seas & Waters by 2030’, setting the stage for stronger collaboration and innovative solutions in the Danube region.

Stuttgart, Germany

The EcoDaLLi project officially launched with a dynamic kick-off meeting in Stuttgart, hosted by the coordinator Steinbeis Europa Zentrum. Partners from across Europe came together to collaborate, share insights, and set the foundation for future work in restoring our oceans and waters.
